The mistake most people make and how to avoid it.

The most common rug mistake in Nigerian homes. Buying a rug that is too small. A small rug floats in the middle of the room and makes everything around it look disconnected. Your rug should be large enough for at least the front legs of every piece of furniture in the seating area to sit on it.

“A Good Rug Does Not Just Cover a Floor. It Holds a Room Together”.

LIVING ROOM

Your rug should anchor the entire seating arrangement. In a standard living room the ideal size is 200cm by 300cm or larger. If you can see more floor than rug, it is too small.

LUXURY BEDROOM

TEXTURE AND MATERIAL

In high traffic areas like living rooms go for low pile rugs that are easy to clean. In bedrooms go for something soft and high pile - this is where comfort matters more than practicality. Avoid very light coloured rugs in dining areas. You already know why.

COLOUR AND PATTERN

If your furniture is busy, your rug should be simple. If your furniture is neutral, your rug can carry the pattern and colour. The rug is not the main character - it is the supporting role that makes the main character look better.
